Fresh off news that plans for a revival of Funny Girl have been scrapped, Nice Work If You Can Get It has claimed that production's previously announced home at the Imperial Theatre. The musical, starring Matthew Broderick and Kelli O'Hara, will open at the Imperial in April 2012.
Directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, Nice Work If You Can Get It features the music of George and Ira Gershwin and a book from Joe DiPietro. Set in the 1920s, the show follows tough bootlegger Billie Bendix (O'Hara) as she meets up with wealthy playboy Jimmy Winter (Broderick) on the weekend of his wedding.
The Imperial is currently home to Billy Elliot, which will play its final performance on January 8, 2012.
